Hey there, everyone!
Welcome back to my blog today..
I’m excited to share my resent progress in my business, especially when it comes to building my presence on TikTok. I’ve been on TikTok for just a little over two months now. I have gained over 556 followers as of today, and I’ve already had two people inquire about learning more about affiliate marketing with me. I wasn’t expecting that to happen so quickly! Honestly, I thought it would be months before anyone even noticed me in this space, but to my surprise, they wanted more information, and that made me so happy! 😁
However, as you might expect, there were a few bumps along the way.
My First Lead… And the Challenges That Came With It
When the first person reached out, I directed her to my website, but that turned out to be more of an ordeal than I anticipated, so I started looking into the problem. After following up with her, she was finally able to opt in, but then there was another problem. When she tried to click the link in my email to confirm her opt-in, she said a page came up that said “not found.”
At that point, I thought, “Another problem? Really?” That’s part of the learning curve in affiliate marketing, especially when it comes to handling technical issues. I immediately contacted my mentors to get their input. Since I’m still learning how websites and all the technical stuff work’s, I wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything.
Glenn, one of my coaches, gave me a lot of great feedback. He explained that the issue could have been due to an update happening with the Affiliate System (the software I use for my business) at the exact moment she clicked the link, or it might have been something on her end. Regardless, I went ahead and messaged her again, asking if she could try the link later when she had time to see if it would work. She said she hadn’t had the chance yet, but would try soon.
On Friday, I had a Zoom call with one of my other coaches, Sophie, and I asked her about the situation, specifically how I could manually confirm the opt-in and send this person the email with the free gift since she hadn’t been able to get it. My fellow colleagues and Sophie gave me some great ideas on how to make that happen in the Affiliate System. I was able to get it sorted and sent her a message letting her know I had manually sent the free guide she was promised.
I felt so bad that we had these issues, but it’s all part of the learning curve that you have to work through and not give up on!
The Second Lead: Patience Is Key
The second person who showed interest has been a little quieter. I reached out to see if she still wanted more information, but I hadn’t heard back initially. However, I did message her again, and she replied saying “she’s been too busy to check out my website, but plans to do so when she gets the chance.” I told her that’s fine, and I completely understand. I’ll follow up with her again in a couple of days.
The follow-up process is so important in this business. People get busy or forget, and if you don’t follow up, nothing will happen. It’s key to staying on their radar, building relationships, providing value, and being patient. Not every lead will turn into a sale overnight, but persistence and consistency are what ultimately make the difference.
Small Wins Are Still Wins
Even though I didn’t close any sales this week, I’m still considering these as wins! First of all, I got my first lead’s name and email on my list, which is a huge step forward. Secondly, the fact that people are already coming to me and inquiring about what I do is incredibly encouraging. These small wins are what keep me motivated to push forward.
It’s a learning process, and every little step counts. Glenn even gave me some extra tips on how I can improve my business, but I’ll have to save that for another blog post next week. His advice was incredibly valuable, but some of it was also a bit overwhelming for me. A lot of it went over my head (I’m not the most computer-savvy person, after all), but that’s okay! I’ll get back to him for clarification and keep learning as I go. That’s what this journey is all about, constant growth!
Lessons Learned This Week
1. Patience is key -Not every inquiry will turn into a sale right away, but each step forward is progress.
2. Stay persistent -Following up with leads and addressing any technical issues can make all the difference.
3. Embrace the learning curve -The technical side of affiliate marketing can be tough, but every challenge brings new knowledge.

Another awesome post, Meredith! I am not yet ready to start TikTok content creation as I just launched my YouTube Chanel earlier this month. As Sophie said, do not take on too much all at once. I have suffered technology setbacks every time I have been on a trip and away from my home and home iMac computer, where my business is done. On my Windows laptop I could never access Internet Profits or Affiliate systems so I was dead in the water. I couldn’t even work on my Blog. I had enough so this week I bought a MacBook Air. When incompatible technology thwarted me, I finally got compatible. I so enjoy your posts. I will come back to this post when I do start TikTok. Keep it up!
Hi Jordan,
Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your experience! It sounds like you’ve made some smart decisions to overcome those tech hurdles, and congratulations on launching your YouTube channel, that’s a huge step! Sophie is absolutely right, it’s important not to overload yourself. And now that you’ve got your new MacBook Air, I’m sure you’ll be unstoppable whether you’re at home or on the go. I’m excited for you and can’t wait to hear how things progress when you’re ready to dive into TikTok. Thanks for the support, and I’ll be cheering you on every step of the way!
Meredith
Hi Meredith! I love to read your posts as you are absolutely on your way to success. I am so excited for you, and a little envious, at your success in TikTok. Wow! You are definitely doing the things that you need to do to get ahead and set yourself up for true success. And it is great that you are starting to get inquiries about your business. I am sorry about the system issues but unfortunately, that’s something that is going to happen to all of us. I’m hoping that it works itself out so that there’s not a repeat. You and I are on the same path and have the same thought process when it comes to this business. About a month ago I started to follow a very simple equation that I made up for myself: Patience + Persistence = Profits. That’s what I plan to do and I know it’s just going to work for me as well as for you. I’m so happy to see you continuing with your blog as it is very enjoyable to read. There is a lot of value! Have a great day and week ahead!
Hi Ernie,
Thank you so much for your wonderful words! I really appreciate your support and encouragement. I’m happy to share that everything worked out with my system issues, and I finally got everything sorted to get that lead on my list, and I was totally excited about that!
I absolutely agree with your equation: Patience + Persistence = Profits. That’s exactly the mindset I’m following too! It’s all about sticking with it and trusting the process. I’m so glad we’re on this journey together, and I can’t wait to see where our efforts take us.
Wishing you a fantastic day and week ahead! Keep up the great work!

The most important thing is to make consistent progress everyday. No matter what. Connections are made, relationships are built. Light bulbs go off and inspirations continue to enfold. One day we will be rewarded with an income but the inspiration is my reward. Every day.
Hi Kate,
Absolutely! Consistent progress is key, and it’s amazing how each small step can lead to meaningful connections and insights. I love how you mentioned that inspiration is a reward in itself, it really is a powerful motivator. Building relationships and gaining new ideas along the way makes the journey so fulfilling. I truly believe that with dedication, our efforts will pay off in the end. Here’s to keeping that momentum going every day!

Wow, this is amazing progress, especially in just two months! Gaining over 550 followers and already having people interested in affiliate marketing with you is a huge win! It’s great to see how you’re handling the bumps along the way—tech issues can be super frustrating, but you didn’t let it stop you. Love that you’re staying persistent and embracing the learning curve. Small wins definitely add up! Looking forward to hearing more about your journey and those extra tips from Glenn. Keep pushing forward, you’re doing awesome!
Hi Sarah,
Thank you so much for the encouragement! It’s been a whirlwind, but I’m definitely starting to see the power of persistence and those small wins adding up. The tech issues have been a challenge, but they’re just part of the journey, right? I’m learning to roll with it all and take each bump as a chance to improve. I really appreciate your support and can’t wait to share more as I go, especially with all the great insights from Glenn! Thanks again for the boost—let’s keep pushing forward together!

Meredith,
I just wanted to say how excited I am about your recent progress with your business and TikTok! Gaining over 556 followers in just two months is amazing, and it’s inspiring to see that people are already inquiring about affiliate marketing with you. Your journey shows that success can happen faster than we think, which is a great reminder to all of us starting out.
I really appreciated your openness about the challenges you faced with your first lead. It’s so relatable! When things don’t go as planned, it can be discouraging, but your proactive approach to solving the issues is commendable. Reaching out to Glenn and Sophie shows the importance of seeking help and learning from others, especially in the technical aspects of affiliate marketing.
Your experience with the second lead also highlights the value of patience and persistence. It’s true that not every inquiry leads to a sale right away, but staying in touch and building relationships is key. I’ve learned that following up is crucial in this business too. Every small win, like getting leads on your list, is a step toward success.
I love how you embrace the learning curve, even if some of the advice feels overwhelming at times. It’s all part of the growth process, and your attitude is inspiring. Your three lessons—patience, persistence, and embracing the learning curve—are so valuable and applicable to anyone pursuing their goals.
Wishing you all the success in your business! Thank you for sharing your journey and insights; they motivate me to keep pushing forward in my own affiliate marketing efforts.
Thanks,
Atif
Hi Atif,
Thank you so much for this thoughtful and encouraging message! It means a lot to hear that my journey resonates with you and that the experiences I’m sharing are helpful. I’m genuinely thrilled about the progress, especially knowing how much every step counts in the early days. The support from Glenn and Sophie has been invaluable, and I agree, reaching out when we hit those bumps makes such a difference!
You’re right about the importance of patience and persistence; it’s something I remind myself of daily. It’s motivating to know others, like you, understand the value of relationship-building in this business, even if it takes time. Each small win really does feel like a step forward, and having people like you cheering me on keeps me moving.
Thank you for the kind words, and best of luck with your affiliate marketing! Let’s keep pushing forward and learning together!

Meredith,
Two inquiries that’s great. On TikTok especially I find the links get a little glitchy. I am glad you were able to stay in touch with those that showed interest. Persistence is really the key. Keep up the great work you have been doing.
Hi Scott,
Thank you so much! It’s definitely encouraging to see those inquiries come in, even with the occasional TikTok link glitch! Staying connected with interested folks has been a big focus, and I’m finding that persistence really does pay off. Your support and advice mean a lot—thanks again for cheering me on!
Meredith
Hi Meredith,
Fantastic post and great information! All these hiccups are part of the learning curve unfortunately. Try as we might, some things can’t be learnt without these hiccups though!
System issues will always come up – most times when we either least expect them or worse, when you don’t want them to happen!
Glad to see that you see it as a positive step towards your goal! Good for you!
Hi Marc,
Thank you so much for the kind words and encouragement! You’re absolutely right, these hiccups are just part of the journey, and sometimes they’re the best teachers. It’s all about rolling with the punches and keeping that goal in sight, no matter what comes up. I’m grateful for the support and reminders to see the positives, especially from people who understand the ups and downs. Thanks again for your thoughtful message!
Meredith
Hi Meredith, first, congratulations for your growing success on TikTok. This is proof of progress which in turn is the fruit of your hard work and commitment. The fact you found leads from organic work is a huge win indeed! This means you are in the right path. Following-up is a very important skill we must master and I’m actually devoting some time to it. And yes, Dean talked about it also, in this world of distractions, people forget and they forget fast. So let’s keep following-up!
Martin
Hi Martin,
Thank you so much for your encouragement! It’s exciting to see that organic efforts are starting to pay off, and I agree, it’s a huge confirmation that things are moving in the right direction. Following up really is essential, especially with so many distractions competing for people’s attention. Dean’s advice on this has been spot-on, and it’s great to know you’re focusing on mastering it too. Thanks again for the support; it’s always appreciated!
