Hey everyone! Welcome back to my blog…
This week, I’ve come face-to-face with the classic entrepreneur challenge, feeling completely overwhelmed by all the different tasks on my plate! If you’re a fellow business owner or are considering starting one, I’m sure you can relate. It’s easy to feel buried under a mountain of work when everything seems to demand your attention at once. With the holidays coming up, I know the days are only going to get busier, which adds an extra layer of stress. Today, I’m sharing a bit about my experience juggling it all and some insights on how to keep moving forward when things get hectic.
The Struggle is Real: Tackling My Website Challenges
As some of you know from last week’s post (and if you missed it, check it out here), I was in the process of adding a form to my website. Sounds simple, right? Well, it’s turned out to be more challenging than I expected! I had scheduled a Zoom call with a support rep to help me through it, but I missed the session due to other things that came up this week. Unfortunately, my sidebar remains a bit chaotic, with my form not sitting quite how I want it on my website, and the big gap that is still there on the top and the bottom of it. I’m determined to get it right, though, so rescheduling that call is at the top of my list.
The tricky part? All of this technical stuff is foreign to me, so when I have to figure out how something works, or worse, how to fix it, it’s enough to get me a little turned upside down. Learning by trial and error has its moments, but it definitely adds to the stress when you’re already juggling a lot. Still, I know this is part of the learning curve, and each little win makes it easier.
Then, there’s my bridge page, a project I know will be powerful for my business once it’s up and running. It’s a space for me to offer extra value to people who sign up, bridging that initial connection and helping build trust from the start. The challenge? I haven’t had a solid chance to sit down and focus on it! Just thinking about these projects piling up feels overwhelming, especially with daily life and the holiday season quickly approaching. But I know all the effort will be worth it once they’re completed!
Social Media Demands: The TikTok Learning Curve
In addition to working on my website, I’ve been diving deeper into TikTok, where I’m video batching, a time-intensive but powerful way to connect with my audience. Mastering the art of short-form video, figuring out what grabs attention, and making each post stand out has been a real learning curve. TikTok demands consistency, creativity, and a solid understanding of what engages your audience, and I sometimes wonder if I’m truly hitting the mark. Creativity doesn’t come easily to me, so brainstorming video ideas while staying authentic has been a real challenge.
Staying Connected Through Email Marketing
Then, of course, there’s email marketing. One of my goals is to write more emails, strengthen that relationship with my subscribers, and keep them engaged with fresh content. The challenge? Making time to actually sit down and focus on crafting valuable, genuine emails amid everything else! We all know that email communication is key to building trust, but it’s tough when there are other tasks pulling you in different directions.
One Step at a Time: Managing the Overwhelm
The truth is, business isn’t always smooth sailing. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that tackling things one task at a time can make the load feel lighter. By setting clear priorities and focusing on completing one project before jumping to the next, I know I’ll eventually get everything done, even if it takes longer than I’d like. It’s a reminder that, yes, things get overwhelming sometimes, but that’s part of the journey.
The bright side? I always try to find the silver lining, and I’m beyond grateful for the incredible support from my coaches and mentor, who guide me through challenges like these. Their encouragement keeps me going, even when things get tough.
As we enter a new month, I’m ready to regroup, refresh, and recommit to my goals with clarity and focus. My plan is to stay organized and tackle priorities one at a time, rather than trying to do it all at once. For any of you feeling similarly, hang in there! Remember that progress, no matter how small, is still progress. Every step forward brings us closer to our goals.
Lessons for Fellow Entrepreneurs
One of the best things about this journey is learning that feeling overwhelmed doesn’t mean you’re on the wrong path. My mentor, Dean, says it’s a sign of growth and of pushing beyond your comfort zones. He has helped me get to where I am now, I wouldn’t have gotten this far if it wasn’t for him and my coaches. With each small win, I’m gaining momentum, and I know you can too. Here’s to keeping our focus on the bigger picture, celebrating progress over perfection, and pushing through even on tough days.
Key Takeaways:
1. Overwhelm is normal in business, remember to take things one step at a time. Trying to do it all at once is a surefire way to burn out. Instead, pace yourself.
2. A fresh month brings new opportunities to reorganize and refocus. Take a moment to reset and prioritize your goals for the upcoming weeks.
3. Staying motivated and working through challenges is the best way to reach your goals. Even if things feel chaotic, staying dedicated to each task helps build momentum.
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog today and letting me vent a little about this whirlwind of a week!

To Our Success,
Hey Meredith! I totally feel you on the overwhelm—balancing all those tasks can feel like juggling flaming swords sometimes! It’s great that you’re focusing on tackling things one step at a time. I’ve found that breaking big projects into smaller, manageable tasks can really help reduce that stress, too.
I’m curious, how do you prioritize which task to tackle first? Do you have a system that helps you decide what needs immediate attention? Also, I think your bridge page idea sounds fantastic! Once it’s up, it’ll definitely enhance your connection with your audience.
Good luck with the TikTok journey! Video batching sounds like a solid plan, and I believe your authentic voice will shine through. Can’t wait to see your progress! Keep pushing through—you’ve got this! 🎉
Hi Alison,
Thanks so much for the support, it really means a lot! Balancing everything really can feel like a bit of a circus act, so it’s good to know I’m not alone!
For tackling tasks, I usually look at what’s most urgent or what will make the biggest difference, and that helps me decide what to do first. Then, I break things down into smaller steps, which makes it all a lot easier to manage. It’s a learning process, but it’s coming together!
Thanks for the encouragement on the bridge page! I will get to it in time. Good luck with your TikTok journey too, it’s such a learning curve, isn’t it? I’m excited to keep going with video batching and hoping my voice comes through!
Thanks again for all the encouragement!
Meredith
I think we all feel the overwhelm every week. Sometimes it feels like moving at a snails pace but other times we get a lot done. I wish there were a magic bullet that could push us all forward. Life has a way of intruding on our online time. That’s why we must block out time every week.
Batchings sound like a good plan. I release a video on TT, and redo it with Capcut so I can do it twice. It cuts down the workload
Hi Scott,
Absolutely, I couldn’t agree more! The ups and downs of progress can really make it feel like we’re moving in slow motion some days, but then suddenly things fall into place, and we get so much done! If only there were that magic push to keep us all moving forward without interruptions, right? Life definitely has a way of squeezing into our schedules!
I love the idea of using CapCut to repurpose videos, it’s such a time-saver to get double the content from one video. Thanks for sharing that tip, it’s definitely something I’ll try. Let’s keep pushing forward, one step at a time!
Meredith
Hey Meredith.
Great article! I can 100% relate to the overwhelm you talk about too – and looking at the comments above, I’m clearly not the only one.
I like the way you have the key takeaways listed at the bottom of the article. Number 2 in particular is good. Kicking off a new month by taking a bit of time to reset and reorganise your plan for this new month is a strong piece of advice. Thanks for the reminder.
Keep up the great work!
Hi Sean,
I’m really glad the article connected with you. It’s definitely comforting to see that we’re all dealing with the same challenges!
I’m happy to hear you found the takeaways helpful! Taking time at the start of each month to reset and refocus has really made a difference for me, so I’m glad it stood out to you as well. Sometimes, it’s those small moments of planning that keep us on track.
Thanks for the encouragement! Let’s keep pushing forward together!
Meredith
Hi, Meredith!
I think you’re right. The key to tackling overwhelm is taking one step at a time. I write all my tasks down and break them down into manageable steps; then, I prioritize. I try to give all my energy to that one little step and put a barrier in my mind between it and everything else I need to do so I’m not focused on the next step but just the current one. And then I celebrate! It might just be some OJ, but I cheer myself on to the next step before I start it. LOL!
Here’s to taking one step at a time! Have a great week, Meredith!
Nakina
Hi Nakina,
I absolutely love this approach! Breaking tasks down into manageable steps and focusing solely on one thing at a time is such a powerful way to beat overwhelm. Hey, a little celebration, even if it’s just some OJ,goes a long way in keeping the momentum going! 😄
Here’s to continuing to tackle our goals one step at a time, and celebrating every little victory along the way! Wishing you an amazing week ahead as well!
Meredith
Hi Meredith,
talking about overwhelm, I agree we must prioritize. But knowing how to prioritize and manage time to achieve our goals is a whole topic for a long study by itself! We do our best and that’s the most we can do. Eventually I guess we are going to be good at it like Dean used to say. For me I must remove 9-10hours per day only for my day job. So what remains is tackled within a few hours and yes, it’s overwhelming!
Hope you will solve your technical difficulty with the form soon.
Wish you the best,
Martin
Hi Martin,
I completely agree, learning how to prioritize and manage time effectively is such a crucial skill, and it can take time to figure out what works best for us. It’s reassuring to remember that we’re doing our best, and just like Dean says, we’ll get better at it with practice. I can imagine how overwhelming it must feel when you’re already dedicating so many hours to your day job. It’s all about making the most of the time we have, and I’m sure you’ll keep managing it well.
Thank you for the kind wishes! I hope I can sort out the technical issues soon too.
Meredith
I feel you on this! It’s amazing how even the “simple” tasks can suddenly turn into a marathon when you’re wearing all the hats. Adding forms, fixing sidebars, tackling TikTok… it’s like running a small circus sometimes! But your approach of taking things one task at a time is spot-on. That “progress over perfection” mindset is what gets us through those chaotic days!
Hi Sarah,
I totally hear you! It really does feel like juggling a million things at once. The little tasks can definitely add up, but breaking them down and focusing on one thing at a time makes it so much more manageable. Yes, progress over perfection is key, it’s all about moving forward, even on the chaotic days! We’ve got this!
Meredith
Hi Meredith – I can totally relate! It is so easy to get lost and overwhelmed and all that we need to do when starting, operating and maintaining a business. There is just so much. As far as your content and product, I think you are doing a fantastic job in overcoming your obstacles. I do appreciate your transparency and you calling it out like it really is that is it as it is helpful for someone like me who is kind of in the same boat. Have a wonderful week!
Hi Ernie,
Thank you so much for your kind words! I completely agree, it can definitely feel overwhelming at times, but it’s so helpful to have others who can relate and share the journey. I’m really glad my transparency is helpful to you, that’s the goal! We’re all in this together, and every step forward counts. Wishing you a wonderful week as well!
Meredith
Overwhelm can lead, and often does, to burnout. That’s where defining your “why” comes in. The “why” is a way to refocus and stay committed. The “why” is a reminder to self to persevere and never give up.
