Reflecting On Subscriber Engagement
Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog today!
First, I’m going to tell you a bit about my week. Then, I will share insights from a wonderful book that has opened my eyes to affiliate marketing and how it has benefited me.
This week I have had some great progress as I’ve immersed myself in refining my welcome email sequence. Despite the time constraints, I’ve pushed forward and am now gearing up to craft my fourth email. Each step feels like a personal victory, particularly because I’ve actively sought feedback to ensure each email resonates deeply with my audience.
One of the key lessons I’ve learned is that while these emails reflect my journey, they shouldn’t solely focus on me. Initially, I struggled with this concept, with my second email where I thought introducing myself was enough to build rapport. I quickly realized that subscribers are looking for value that goes beyond personal experiences. I knew that already, I just thought they would like to learn a little about the person sending these emails to them all the time. I learned they want insights and information that can benefit them directly. This realization has reshaped my approach, emphasizing the importance of providing content that educates, inspires, or entertains, while also allowing subscribers to get to know, like, and trust me over time.
Navigating this learning curve has been both challenging and enlightening. It’s about striking a balance between sharing my story and delivering meaningful content that addresses the needs and interests of my audience. Each email now aims to offer something valuable, a tip, a strategy, or a perspective that adds genuine value to their inbox. As I continue refining my sequence, I’m excited by the opportunity to create emails that not only capture attention but also build a lasting connection with my subscribers.
Exiting Things Happening!
In addition to my own progress, I received exciting news from my mentor, Dean Holland. I was thrilled to learn that he has been diligently preparing to open the affiliate system to the public here very soon! As a current member of the affiliate system, I was recently invited to join a new community that Dean has launched. This community is part of the membership training I purchased, offering not only a supportive network but also additional training resources. I’m eagerly anticipating diving into this community and exploring the wealth of knowledge and insights Dean has crafted out for us.
Overall, this week has been a blend of personal growth and exciting opportunities within the affiliate marketing world. I’m grateful for the progress I’ve made with my email sequence and equally enthusiastic about the prospect of tapping into Dean’s community to further enhance my skills and network with like-minded individuals. It’s what keeps me excited and focused on reaching my goals. Entrepreneurship is always evolving, and there’s always something new to learn.
Now, about this amazing book!
This Is Where It Began For Me
I’m excited to give you a sneak peek into the book that revolutionized how I approach affiliate marketing: “The Iceberg Effect. “This book has been an absolute gem for me, showing the way to success in the rapidly changing world of online business.
“The Iceberg Effect” by Dean Holland isn’t just another book. It’s a sincere dive into the core principles that drive successful affiliate marketing and entrepreneurship. Dean kicks things off by highlighting how crucial it is to really understand yourself and carve out your own unique path to success.
One of the most inspiring aspects of Dean’s teachings is his emphasis on designing your life. He encourages readers to envision their ideal lifestyle and provides practical steps to achieve it through thoughtful business strategies and personal growth.
Dean also dives into what he calls the four core areas of focus, where he shares invaluable insights into business growth, nurturing customer relationships, and developing sustainable success strategies. Each chapter is filled with wisdom and practical advice that can truly revolutionize how you approach your business and life.
One of my favorite aspects of Dean Holland’s book is his openness about his personal experiences. He doesn’t shy away from sharing both his failures and successes, which adds a layer of authenticity that’s really refreshing. When an author like Dean shares their journey in such a transparent way, it becomes easier for readers, like me, to relate. It’s reassuring to see someone who started out much like myself, facing challenges and overcoming them through persistence and learning. This honesty not only makes the material more relatable but also turns his lessons into practical insights that can be applied directly to our own entrepreneurial journeys.
If you’re passionate about succeeding in affiliate marketing, or any online endeavor, this book is a must-read. It has touched the lives of many, including mine. Without discovering “The Iceberg Effect” when I did, I might still be searching for the right path to achieving my online business goals. Dean’s guidance has given me clarity and direction, empowering me to pursue a journey that fills me with excitement every day.
I highly recommend picking up a copy of “The Iceberg Effect.” Immerse yourself in Dean Holland’s gentle wisdom and uncover how these principles can help you build a thriving online business while creating a life that resonates with your deepest aspirations. Meredith, Thanks for sharing your weeks journey, I’m in the same spot as you. I am working through my email sequence and have made more rewrites than what’s in a novel. Please share more of your email experiences as they certainly have helped me rethink my approach.
Hi Ken!
Thank you so much for your comment! I’m really glad to hear that sharing my journey has been helpful for you. Email sequences can be such a challenge, can’t they? I’ve definitely had my fair share of rewrites too. I’ll definitely share more of my experiences and tips – knowing that it’s helping others makes it all worthwhile. Hi Meredith,
Great to read how you’re navigating the email sequence world! It isn’t easy and fine tuning every step is definitely going to pay dividends in the near future.
Ah, that book – I think it should be given to every student – along with a roadmap of how to manage your finances (can’t take the bank manager out of me)!
Dean is definitely providing us with an abundance of tools to help us succeed!
All the best!
Hi Marc!
Thank you for your kind words! Navigating the email sequence is definitely a journey, but I’m excited to see how it all pays off in the future.
Ah, I couldn’t agree more about the book! It’s such a valuable resource. And yes, a roadmap for managing finances would be a great thing for students. Once a bank manager, always a bank manager, right? 😊
Dean is indeed giving us an amazing toolkit for success. Feeling very grateful for all the support.
Thanks again and all the best to you too!
Meredith

Hi Meredith! I couldn’t agree more with your value/personal conclusion. Everyone is so busy that too much story and not enough value will keep them from coming back. For me personally it’s about a 70/30 ratio. I am naturally interested in people, so I love the story, but my mission comes first, so if I’m not getting lots of value, I’m going to seek it out in other places. Your posts do both really well. Your summary of Dean’s book is spot on. It’s been incredibly valuable to me as well. Thanks for another great post! Michael
Hi Michael!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! I’m really glad to hear that you agree with my value/personal ratio. It’s always a balancing act, and it means a lot to know that my approach resonates with you. I totally get where you’re coming from, getting that mix of story and value just right is key. Dean’s book has indeed been a game changer, and I’m thrilled that you’ve found it valuable too. Thanks again for your kind words and for taking the time to share your thoughts. I appreciate it!
