Progress With Email Sequence
Hello everyone, and welcome back to my blog!
This week has been very productive, filled with progress and personal milestones. I received some valuable feedback on my second email of my sequence and lead magnet from Sophie. She mentioned that they are both almost ready to go, just requiring a few minor tweaks. It’s such a relief to know I’m on the right track. It’s been a slow track, but the right track! Without the feedback I get from Sophie and Glenn, I’d be totally lost! They make everything make sense, and I always look forward to their videos because their feedback is so helpful.
Upgrading Design and Functionality with a New Theme
Recently, I decided to change the theme on my website to enhance its appearance and functionality. The previous theme had limitations that restricted my ability to customize layouts and integrate necessary plugins effectively, making it challenging to present my content as I envisioned. It’s crucial that my website is inviting to my guests, providing a seamless experience that showcases content in a user-friendly manner. I still need to experiment with it, but over time, I’ll customize it to my liking.
Switching to a new theme has been a positive change. I now have access to a wider range of customization options that better align with my vision for the website. The new theme makes my content more visually appealing and easier to navigate. I was scared at first that I might lose some of the things on my website with not really knowing how this stuff works behind the scenes…. I did have to put my sidebar back after the switch, but that wasn’t a big deal. I’m glad I took the chance!
Overall, changing the theme has not only improved the look of my website but has also provided more flexibility and functionality, allowing me to better showcase my content and engage with my audience effectively. It underscores the importance of selecting a theme that meets your needs and enhances your online presence.
Tackling Technical Challenges
With the green light on those two tasks, I can move on to my next email after fixing the minor issues. Additionally, I spent some time yesterday writing a one-off email for my blog post to send out to my subscribers each week. This task was crucial in ensuring that my audience stays engaged and informed about new content. Navigating through the affiliate system and learning the ins and outs of setting up my emails in the system has been a challenge for me. I’m still learning how to use it. I’m having a few issues, and it very well could be just me not catching on with everything. The good thing is that I can always go back to the training that Dean gave us to remind myself how it all works, and I have the live chat service that can help too.
During some testing on deliverability of my emails, I discovered that my business email wasn’t connected correctly. Fortunately, our affiliate system has a wonderful live chat feature for situations like this as I stated before. I chatted with them and explained my problem. They created a video that was sent to me with the explanation of my issue. It was so awesome that they did it that way. They also gave a description in the video and showed me where the problem was. I thought it was so helpful how they did that! Even though I thought the problem was resolved, it still isn’t, so I’ll have to look into it more tomorrow. Setting up all these emails can be very time-consuming and daunting, but it is very necessary and important that you take your time with your emails to get them right. I’m determined, so I will get it all done.
While I have been getting all these productive things done with my business, I have also been distracted by talking with both my sons who are overseas and while on a cruise. They have enjoyed their wonderful trips to Europe, the Bahamas, and Grand Turk. On a more personal note, here’s how both my sons’ trips have gone. You know I had to tell you about their trips!😁
My Son’s European Adventure & Grand Turk and The Bahamas Cruise
Meanwhile, I’ve been in daily communication with my son while he’s been on his 11 day trip to Europe. He has visited Switzerland, Italy, France, and is now heading to Spain. His tour is with EF Tours, and his group consists of 24 kids and 6 adults. He is having a fantastic time there! Although, they did have a bit of a scare in France. They visited a lavender field, which severely affected one of the kids, requiring a rush to the hospital. My son experienced some allergy issues afterwards too, but nothing like the other boy, thank goodness! Zachary was excited to see the Lavender field, because who comes across those every day? I know I haven’t! It’s frightening knowing your child is thousands of miles away, but thankfully, he didn’t have the same severe reaction. The kid that had the reaction is okay now, and today they traveled to Barcelona.
Spain was the one country that he was really looking forward to since his late grandfather was a Spaniard. Tomorrow is his last day on the trip, and it’s packed with a bike tour, bus tour, and dinner while watching flamenco dancers. I’m sure he will enjoy it very much. It’s been quite an experience for him these past nine days. As much as he’s enjoyed the trip, I think he’s ready to come home. I’m so looking forward to seeing Zachary once his adventure comes to an end. I miss my boy! Hearing about his adventures and the beautiful places he’s seen makes me realize how important it is to have these experiences, and I’m so glad he was able to at a young age. I’m sure he learned tons of stuff while on this trip.
Adding to the excitement, my younger son, Evan, recently returned home safe and sound from a fabulous cruise to Grand Turk and the Bahamas. His joyous tales of turquoise waters and sandy beaches brought a sense of relief and happiness during the week’s busy schedule. Thankfully, he didn’t have any dramatic incidents happen while on his trip. Moments like these remind me of the importance of balancing career aspirations with cherishing family milestones. Despite the busy nature of the week, knowing that both of my sons are safe and happy has brought me immense joy and motivation.

Embracing Continued Learning
As I continue to navigate the complexities of affiliate marketing and setting up my email sequences, I am reminded of the importance of persistence and continuous learning. Every challenge faced and every obstacle overcome contributes to my growth and understanding of this dynamic field. The feedback and support I’ve received, especially from Sophie and Glenn, have been instrumental in refining my approach and boosting my confidence. Their insights help me see things from different perspectives, ensuring that I am always on the right track.
Additionally, having access to comprehensive training materials from Dean has been a lifeline. The ability to revisit these resources whenever I encounter a roadblock allows me to clarify doubts and reinforce my knowledge. It’s reassuring to know that even when things don’t go as planned, there’s always a way to learn and improve. These small but significant steps are laying the foundation for long-term success, and I am excited to see where this journey takes me.
The journey may be filled with twists and turns, but each step forward is a testament to the value of determination and resilience. Embracing the learning process and leveraging the support available to me not only enhances my skills but also strengthens my resolve. I am eager to apply what I’ve learned, continue growing, and ultimately achieve my goals in the world of affiliate marketing. The path may be challenging, but the rewards of persistence and continuous improvement make every effort worthwhile.

Hi Meredith,
Thanks for sharing your story regarding your business and family life.
Focusing too much on the business side can eventually become exhausting if I do it for a long time.
Part of the reason why I am trying affiliate marketing is so that, hopefully, someday, I can have more time to spend with people and build relationships instead of spending my days with the regular 9-5 job routine.
I guess the problem is that the learning phase is usually at the very beginning of starting this or any business. And this also makes it the part where someone needs to focus the most.
But I Hope all the hard work pays off.
Thank you again for sharing your story!
Hi Alberto,
Thank you for your thoughtful message. I completely understand where you’re coming from. Striking the right balance between business and personal life is indeed challenging, especially at the beginning when learning and setting up require so much focus and energy.
Affiliate marketing can be a great way to eventually create more flexibility in your schedule, allowing you to spend more time with loved ones and cultivate meaningful relationships. The initial phase can be tough and demanding, but with dedication and perseverance, the rewards can be significant.
I wish you the best of luck on your journey and hope all your hard work pays off as well. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you ever need advice or support.

I love the new theme; it looks so professional. It’s giving me thoughts about changing my own. It’s so inspiring to see all the progress you’re making. Thanks for sharing the stories about your sons’ adventures in Europe. They will have such wonderful memories for the rest of their lives. All the best.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m thrilled to hear that you love the new theme and find it inspiring. It’s amazing how a fresh look can make such a difference.
I’m glad you enjoyed the stories about my sons’ adventures in Europe. He definitely created memories that will last a lifetime. Your support means a lot to me, and I’m excited to see what changes you decide to make for your own site.
All the best to you as well!
Meredith
Hey Meredith, nice blog you have! I was on my cell phone, read your post, and then after I wanted to know how it looks like on my laptop. I found this website really awesome. Great professional look! Congratulations! Everything is easy to spot, and fit nicely in place!
Also what a chance to travel around Europe like that. The beauty of Europe is that you can travel to many countries, see as many different cultures while staying on the same continent. Travel is much easier than here in Canada and less expensive as well. A cruise in the Bahamas is a dream for many, right? And it is so motivating like you said knowing they have good time and that they are in security. My son went to Columbia and was following him step by step. It is also difficult knowing you have no control on events at such large distances. Similar stress when my 17yrs daughter take the car, I always feel I have no control, this drives me crazy.
Good luck with fixing your mail issues.
Martin
Hi Martin,
Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful message! I’m really glad to hear that you enjoyed reading my blog and that it looks great on both your cell phone and laptop. Your positive feedback about the design and layout means a lot to me.
Traveling around Europe has been a wonderful adventure for my son, and I agree that the ability to experience so many different cultures within a relatively small area is something special.
I can understand your feelings about your son traveling in Colombia and your daughter driving. It’s natural to worry about our loved ones, especially when they are far away or facing potential risks. It’s clear that you care deeply about their safety and well-being.
I experienced Colombia for a summer when I was 14. A friend of mine lived there, and took me to Medellin and Bogotá. It was the best experience I had! That’s why I wanted my son to go to Europe and have the same opportunity to experience a different country.. he enjoyed it very much too!
Thank you for your good wishes regarding my mail issues. I appreciate it! Hopefully, I will be able to get that resolved.
Meredith
Hi Meredith,
Great blog entry! I also have to say that I had a big smile on my face when I read that your son was with EF Tours.
In 2017, I was part of a group of Officers that brought Cadets to Europe to celebrate Remembrance day. It was a very emotional but gratifying trip; here’s hoping that it’s the same for your son.
As for the rest of your blog, I’m so thrilled to see that you’ve taken everything given to you by Sophie & Glenn and ran with it!
It could be so easy for you to just say “no” and decide otherwise, but instead, you decided to listen and act – fantastic!
Wishing you all the best!
Hi Marc,

I’m happy to share that my son has had a great experience with EF Tours and his trip to Europe too. He has enjoyed it all very much! His Tour guide, Guillermo, who was part of EF Tours, he said was awsesome!
Sophie & Glenn have indeed been a tremendous source of inspiration and support. It’s been a journey of growth and learning, and I’m thankful for every bit of advice and motivation they’ve provided.
Thank you again for your thoughtful comment and well wishes. All the best to you too!

I enjoyed your blog very much this week. It was so informative, as always, but your example of how your problems are always solved with the help of your mentors really takes any fear away from someone like me who is a little technically challenged,
Hearing about your personal situations is so very nice to read, because we all have personal lives and sometimes it’s hard to see how we can work those out as well as be successful.

Hi Meredith, love all the progress you’re making! I agree that the Affiliate System team (Dean, Sophie, Glenn) is an invaluable resource of information and help. I also love your ability to balance personal and professional – something I don’t do very well. Also, I don’t remember what your old theme looked like, but this new one is very nice. It looks great, is clean and very readable, and all the functions (buttons) work well. I can’t wait to read this week’s progress post. Thanks, Michael
