Hello and welcome back to my blog!
I hope everyone’s having a fantastic week so far. Mine has been pretty productive, especially with creating videos on TikTok and learning how the platform works. It’s been a wild ride, to say the least!
I’ve spent countless hours watching videos from other creators, trying to get a feel for how everything works, and then diving into making my own content. Well, that’s a whole different ball game! I think I’ve done okay so far, but there’s still so much more to learn. I’m sticking with it, though, because I know that with time, I’ll get the hang of everything.
One thing I regret is not starting this process earlier. It’s easy to look back and think about all the things I should have done differently, but the truth is, we can’t change the past. What’s important is focusing on what we can do today to move forward.
When I first started, I was blindsided by how many features TikTok has. Even with all the great guidance from my mentor Dean, I still felt lost at times, only because of all the options there are on the platform. Luckily, one of my coaches, Sophie, gave me some fantastic advice that helped me push through that initial overwhelm, especially when it came to coming up with content ideas.
I was so nervous about starting TikTok because I was terrified of running out of content to post. But Sophie shared seven brilliant tips that I want to pass on to you, too. These tips have been a game-changer for me, and I’m sure they’ll help you create engaging content consistently, even if you’re just starting out.
Seven Tips For Posting Engaging Content
1. Post 3 Videos a Day
Sophie’s first tip is to aim for three videos a day. I know, it sounds like a lot, but it’s manageable if you break it down:
Video 1: Share something personal. It doesn’t have to be a lot, just a small, relatable tidbit about yourself. This helps your audience connect with you on a more personal level.
Video 2: Provide value. This could be a tip, a trick, or some knowledge your audience can learn from and use.
Video 3: Share a win (or a loss) from your business journey. This not only humanizes you but also shows your audience that you’re learning and growing alongside them.
2. Record Your Journey
Documenting your journey is a goldmine for content ideas. By recording what you’re doing every day, you’ll naturally create a narrative that your audience can follow, and this will provide you with endless content ideas.
3. Engage with Your Audience
The more content you publish, the more comments and questions you’ll receive from your audience. This is where the magic happens! Use their comments and DMs as content ideas. You can even take a question from a follower and make a video answering it. Just be sure to respect their privacy if you’re using a DM, no sharing personal information without permission!
4. Explore Q&A Platforms
Sites like Quora and Reddit are treasure troves of content ideas. Search for questions related to your niche, and you’ll find hundreds, if not thousands, of topics that people are curious about. These are perfect opportunities to create content that addresses those questions.
5. Leverage Online Communities
Online communities like Facebook groups or Skool are fantastic places to find content ideas. Look for questions that people are struggling with, and use those to inspire your next video. Pay attention to the comments, too—sometimes the best ideas come from the conversations happening in the comments section.
6. Get Inspired by Others
Watching other people’s content can spark your creativity. Now, I’m not saying you should copy what they’re doing, but you can definitely take inspiration from their ideas and put your own unique spin on them.
7. Use AI for Idea Generation
AI tools like Chat GPT and Claude are amazing for generating content ideas. You can ask them questions, brainstorm topics, and even get help structuring your videos. Just remember to use AI responsibly—these tools are here to assist you, not to do the work for you.
What have we learned today?
1. Content Strategy: Post three TikTok videos daily, focusing on personal stories, valuable tips, and business wins to engage your audience.
2. Inspiration Sources: Leverage Q&A platforms, online communities, and AI tools to generate fresh content ideas and stay inspired.
3. Engagement: Engage with your audience through comments and DMs, using their feedback to fuel your content creation.
These tips from Sophie have been invaluable to me, and I hope they help you as much as they’ve helped me. Whether you’re new to TikTok or looking to refine your content strategy, these ideas will give you the confidence to keep creating and growing.

Meredith,
I am about to start my TikTok journey for the third time. In my past iterations of TT I did find posting three time a day helped. The biggest issue I faced was moving beyond the two to three hundred views. Thanks you for the detailed instructions.
Hi Scott,
You’re welcome! I’m excited to hear you’re giving TikTok another shot—third time’s the charm, right? Posting three times a day is a great strategy for building momentum, so it’s awesome that you’ve already got that down. Breaking past those initial view counts can be challenging, but with consistency and the right tweaks, you’ll start to see growth. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different content styles or engage with your audience in new ways. Keep pushing forward, and remember that every step is progress. Wishing you the best of luck on this new TikTok journey!

Meredith, these are great tips for creating new video content, which I sometimes struggle with as well. Sophie’s got it goin’ on for sure. She knows her stuff. I have trouble creating one video a day at my full-time job. I don’t have it in me. There’s always so much to do; video content is just one thing. But slow and steady wins the race, so I’m okay with that for now. I have bookmarked this page to re-visit when I am struggling to come up with content… thank you for the great tips.
Hi Vanessa,
Thank you for your kind words! 😊 I totally understand the struggle of balancing a full-time job with content creation,it’s a lot to juggle! You’re right, Sophie is amazing at what she does, and it’s inspiring to see how she manages everything. Remember, it’s all about finding a pace that works for you. Slow and steady really does win the race, and the most important thing is consistency, not speed. I’m glad you found the tips helpful, and revisiting them when you need a boost is a great strategy. Keep going, you’re doing great!

Hi Meredith – This is such a great post and like you I wish I would have started earlier. Concern now for me is that I have put a pause on it not for being lazy or for or for procrastinating it’s just that I have not done it and that’s on me. Thank you for your tips and for reminding me what our mentors have showed us that we need to do in order to be successful. Looks like you are doing it! I enjoy watching your videos and appreciate the steps that you have taken to not only educate us but to make yourself shine out online. Keep it up! Have a great week I ahead!

Your journey into TikTok and content creation is inspiring, especially for those of us who are navigating similar challenges.
It’s clear that you’re on a path of continuous learning and growth, and it’s exciting to see where this journey will take you.
As for staying inspired, I’ve found that stepping away from the screen and immersing myself in different activities—whether it’s reading, going for a walk, or even engaging in hobbies—often sparks new ideas that I can bring back into my content.
Keep up the amazing work, and I’m looking forward to seeing more of your content!
Hi Eleanor,
Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement! It’s been quite a journey, and I’m glad to have others like you who understand the challenges of this path.
I’ve definitely been struggling with the creative part of TikTok, so your suggestion to step away and find inspiration in other activities is a great idea, thank you. Taking breaks and finding new perspectives can make such a difference, and I’ll keep that in mind as I work through these challenges.
Thank you again for the support!

Hi Meredith,
Trail blazing the road on Tik Tok for others like me is so invaluable to me!
Thank you for the great tips and information; it will definitely be a great plus on my and others’ journey on Tik Tok.
I think the only drawback I’m seeing now is doing the 3 videos per day, wow! I know I can get there – just not right now LOL!
Thank you again for all the support and information!
Hi Marc,
I’m thrilled to hear that the tips and information are helping you on your TikTok journey. It’s totally okay to start at your own pace, posting three videos a day can be a lot, but you’ll get there when you’re ready! Sometimes, I record a few videos in advance and keep them in drafts until I’m ready to post. That way, I can get them all done when I have the time, so I’m not having to do it throughout the day. I knock them all out at once for the day, and it really helps!
Thanks for your support, and I’m here if you need anything along the way!
Meredith

Hi Judith,
I’m glad you found Sophie’s tips helpful! They’re definitely worth keeping handy, I refer to them often myself. Thank you for your comment.
