Hello and welcome back to my blog post!
As many are aware, last week was a chaotic mess in terms of getting things done in my business. This week hasn’t been much different, as I’m still swamped with various other commitments that have prevented me from dedicating the time I had hoped to on my business. However, I managed to squeeze in some additional training, which was both beneficial and necessary. I also incorporated some new habits that I think will be beneficial to me staying focused. It wasn’t a total loss after all this week.
A New Positive Outlook
I made an effort to incorporate some new positive habits in the hopes of staying on track. I began practicing chair yoga in the mornings to start my day with a clear mind and more energy. I’ve never been good at sticking with any kind of exercise, but yoga stood out with its benefits for your health. I began practicing it with the intention of promoting my mental well-being since things have been a little more stressful for me lately. It can help with anxiety, depression, and stress. It can improve mood, focus, and concentration. The physical benefits are good too, which I can use as well. I’m gonna try to stick to this so I can get these results and help improve my focus and organization.
Additionally, Murphy, my faithful companion, and I started to unwind on the front porch in the evenings with a glass of wine. Murphy, who will be turning 11 on September 9th this year, enjoys sitting there, taking in the passing breeze and observing the people going by. As he’s gotten older, walks have become too strenuous for him, so we don’t go as often as we used to. He has developed a little arthritis in his joints. Shorter walks are better for him. Nonetheless, he remains my loyal sidekick, always by my side. While his constant presence at my feet can sometimes be overwhelming, he’s my baby boy, and I tolerate it, knowing he needs his momma more as he ages.
That’s why this business is so beneficial to your well-being and psyche. It allows you to have the freedom to enjoy these moments with family, friends, or your furry friend like Murphy. I know Murphy’s days are limited, so I have tried to start taking that little extra time with him now. It makes him happy, so that makes me happy to give him that enjoyment in his last years with me. It’s more challenging to be able to do these things when you have worked a 9 to 5 job and come home exhausted. These are the little quirks I like having with affiliate marketing. You have a lot more freedom to do the things you like or want to do.
Time Flies When Having Fun!
I apologize if you’ll frequently hear me talk about my kids; they truly mean the world to me, and I’m incredibly proud of both of them! Their achievements and personalities fill me with immense joy and gratitude, and I can’t help but share my admiration for them as they are growing into little adults. As a parent, seeing them grow and flourish brings me unparalleled happiness, and I feel blessed to have them in my life.
This week, my son received his cap and gown from (SJR) St. Johns River College for one of his graduations he will have on May 3rd. The other one will be for his high school, and that will be on May 20th. He has officially completed twelve years of school and two years of college coursework within that span of time. As his classes came to a close, and him bringing home his cap and gown, the reality of his impending graduation and transition into adulthood began to sink in. It’s all becoming so real – my baby is going to graduate and become an adult, and I must admit, I don’t like it! 😔Where does this time go? It went by way too fast! That’s why you have to take in every moment of your day, because if you don’t your babies will not be babies anymore, and you will miss out on it all.
Learning New Things Is Part Of The Process
Another fortunate occurrence this week was the quarterly training event hosted by my mentors for certified partners like myself. Remarkably, the focus of this week’s session was on email sequence strategies and one-off emails, which couldn’t have come at a better time, considering my recent struggles. The insights shared by Dean, Glenn, and Sophie were precisely what I needed to propel my email setup forward. The timing was impeccable, with my current challenges and needs.
Despite the ongoing busyness and unforeseen hurdles, I remain determined to move ahead. By embracing positivity, incorporating beneficial habits, and seizing opportunities for growth, I am confident that I can navigate through the chaos and emerge stronger on the other side once life calms down a bit. I have been working on setting up my emails whenever I have a moment to sit down and focus. I haven’t stopped, and that’s what my mentor, Dean, tells us all the time: Go at your own pace, but NEVER GIVE UP! Even if it’s just an hour or two a day, never give up. And that’s exactly what I’m doing—progressing a little each day until I complete my email sequence. So, I might not have much to report for a while until I get this part completed.
The Joy Of Plugins
Plugins are essential for website development, offering customizable features, streamlining tasks, and adapting websites to evolving trends and technologies. They empower website owners to enhance functionality, accessibility, and relevance efficiently. Just to give you a little overview of what it’s functionality is.
Plugins can be unpredictable elements in website development sometimes. At times, they seamlessly improve functionality, while at others, they lead to unexpected issues. This uncertainty highlights the importance of vigilance and adaptability in website management. By approaching each situation with patience and resilience, we can transform unexpected hiccups into valuable lessons and emerge with stronger, more robust websites.
An issue that came up was my Lead Connector became what I thought was a vulnerability on my website. WordPress, for whatever reason, decided to delete Lead Connector, but it was still connected to my website. Since I’m still learning about different plugins, I don’t know all the ins and outs of this technical stuff, I was freaking out a bit when I saw that. A nice colleague of mine informed me not to worry too much about it. It all should be fine, and I should continue doing what I have been doing. I sure hope that is the case and there’s nothing more to be concerned with. This was the notification I received from WordPress.
Plugin Name: Lead Connector
Current Plugin Version: 1.7
-
Details: Your site is still using this plugin, but it is not currently available on wordpress.org. Plugins can be removed from wordpress.org for various reasons. This can include benign issues like a plugin author discontinuing development or moving the plugin distribution to their own site, but some might also be due to security issues. In any case, future updates may or may not be available, so it is worth investigating the cause and deciding whether to temporarily or permanently replace or remove the plugin. Get more information.
If anyone has additional information on this, I would love to hear what you have to say in the comments below. If you think there are some actions I should take, please let me know. As I said before, I don’t know about this stuff, and I’m still learning. I read up on it, and it all sounds like another language to me. 😂

To Our Success,
Hi Meredith,
I love the idea of chair yoga but think I’m just loving the idea of it right now (smile) – Is it the app you’re referring to? I have been through the questionnaire recently, and it’s the second time I’ve done that but I have not gone through and completed it. Do you like it? Is it working for you?
Yes, unfortunately, dog years are not as long as ours, so it is great you are spending time with Murphy.
Don’t apologize for talking about your family, who would not want a teenager to have done well, and completed high school and two years of college at the same time!!
Lead Connector came up as a vulnerability on my site along with another plugin Comment Luv, which I ignored for a few weeks then finally I followed the links and although I cannot remember exactly what I did there was an option to ignore so I did that and I still have them both and the ‘warning’ message has gone. I guess this is a good question to ask a mentor.
I appreciate your post, as you document your journey studiously. (sometimes I forget to do that as I could have noted/recorded how I responded to the Lead Connector).
Thank you
Hi Eleanor,
You’re so funny about that… 😆
Yes, it is the app. I took the evaluation and then they set it up for what I need at the moment. It really has been great! I’m not good at getting on the floor, because I have screws in my knee from breaking my leg years ago, so it hurts when getting on my feet from the floor. I can’t get on my knee, so everything is done on a chair and it’s so easy. It doesn’t hurt during or after. It is really relaxing too. You should try it!
I started it to try to keep me focused and not get stressed out with things since I have a lot on my plate right now. It wouldn’t hurt if I could lose some weight from it too… 😂 I feel better during the day, but other than that I have not seen anything else. I just started it so we’ll see.
Awwww…. Thank you for that. I am so proud of my kids, and they are my world, so I tend to talk about them a little too much sometimes.
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one that has had this problem with Lead Connector. I have left it alone too. The only thing I’m worried about is if it isn’t being monitored and updated regularly anymore then will something go wrong with my website or anything else. I guess I need to ask Glenn this question. Thank you for sharing your experience about that with me.
Oh, thank you! I appreciate it very much!
Thank you for your comment.
Meredith
HI Meredith,
Sounds like you have a lot going on and doing so well to manage it all!
Chair yoga seems like an interesting thing to look up. I am soon incorporating some for of activity that is good on my health but doesn’t agitate my back.
Having kids grow up, it happens so fast it’s insane. My son is 29 and I remember the grads from high school, college, apprenticeship and becoming an amazing adult and mechanic by trade. I remember the feelings I had throughout, happy but bitter sweet.
I’ve had my share of tech issues and wish I could help with Lead Connector but can’t. I normally go to Glenn for help on plugins.
Wish you all the best as you continue on your journey!
Denny
Hi Denny,
Thank you Denny! I just try to get through each day being on top. You should find some kind of exercise that will help you, but be safe for your back. It would be good for you…
It does go so fast all our kids growing up. You must be so proud of your kids with all their accomplishment’s. It really is a bitter sweet feeling when they grow up.
Thank you for the advice on the Lead Connector. I will have to get with Glenn on that. Thank you for your comment.
Meredith
Meredith,
Chair yoga sounds great. I love yoga and am always up for something new. Spend as much time as you can with Murphy. I am sure he enjoys your company. Sorry to hear about the plugin issue. Good luck with your emails. I have yet to watch that training video and I am excited to get started on my emails.
Sherri
Hi Sherri,
Thank you Sherri for your comment. You should give the chair yoga a try. It has been good for me so far.
I’m still working on the whole email situation, but moving forward each day with it, and that’s all that matters. I will get through it just like anything else I have struggled with in life. ☺ Thanks!
Meredith
Meredith, thanks for sharing your reflections on your week. It sounds like you’ve been juggling a lot, but it’s great to hear about the positive steps you’re taking amidst the chaos. Incorporating new habits like chair yoga and spending quality time with Murphy on the porch are wonderful ways to stay grounded and find moments of peace. And congrats to your son on his upcoming graduations – what a milestone! It’s moments like these that remind us to cherish every second with our loved ones.
Your dedication to learning and growing in your business is admirable, especially with the recent challenges you’ve faced. Remember, progress is progress, no matter how small. As for the plugin issue, it’s understandable to feel overwhelmed, but reaching out for help and continuing to learn is the best approach. Keep up the positive mindset and resilience – you’re on the right track. Thanks, Atif
Hi Atif,
Thank you for your kind words.
I’m trying to find ways to stay focused and on top of things. It’s a struggle some days, but the yoga is helping, and my time on the porch with my wine and Murphy.
Thank you for your comment.
Meredith
Meredith,
Life is going to happen. The journey we are on is not just about building an online business. It is about family and stopping to enjoy what life offers along the journey. We need to remember that we don’t need to negate family and friends but to live a balanced life.
I know for myself this is sometimes a very hard thing to do. I get so focused on the business side I forget to slow down and enjoy life.
So make sure you take time for other things in life as you build your business.
CJ
Hi CJ,
Oh, yes it does, and has been happening for some time now… I’m ready for it to calm down now.
Yes! You are totally right about that. My family has always come first in my world. I beleive in balance in your life is good to have. It helps you grow as a whole. I’m trying to teach my kids that now.
Please, take the time with family when possible. It is so important to have that balance in life. It will pass before your eyes then it’s too late.
Thanks for your comment.
Meredith
It’s funny that you mentioned chair yoga… I have been looking into this as I also need something to help me with better focus and body toning. How do you like it so far? You have much to be proud of with your kids, and you must be so proud your son has completed two years of college at the same time as finishing high school. That’s amazing. Your furbaby is so sweet. Cherish every minute you can with him. Every day is a new day to take positive, life-changing steps toward a better you. Whether small or big, it’s all relative and in a forward motion. Keep up the excellent work you are doing, and remember to breathe. I like the idea of sitting on the porch with my best friend, sipping wine and enjoying the evening. Sounds like heaven on earth.
Hi Vanessa,
You should really try it. I have been enjoying it so far!
I am a very proud mom, thank you!
Murphy Moo is my baby boy… 🐶 He has been around the block with us and through all kinds of crazyness. He has adopted me as his mom. He won’t look at anyone else the same. ♥
Thank you for your kind words and encouragement. Murphy and I have been enjoying it very much.
Thank you for your comment.
Meredith
Chair yogo sounds something I need. I’m going to look into this as I’m sure it will come in good use at work at the moment.
That’s so exciting about your children graduating. You must be incredibly proud. My daughter is 9 and has 2 more years of primary school left, I’m dreading high school as I will be sad she’s not little anymore but parallel to this, so proud of what’s she’s achieved. It’s bitter sweet I suppose. I’m not technically minded at all so this would have bugged me to. A great lesson in not giving up.
Thank you for sharing your experiences this week, and yes spend as much quality time with your dog as possible. They are incredible creatures x
Hi Sarah,
Yes, I believe you will like the chair yoga and it will come in handy for work.
I am extremely proud! They both are in the same program to complete their AA with their high school, so my youngest will do the same. He’s only 2 years behind my older son. Very proud mom here!
Oh, enjoy those years you have with your daughter.. They go by so fast! I look back at pictures of my boys and it feels like yesterday when they were that age. 😢 Take every moment in when you can… You should be very proud too. It goes fast once they enter high school so be ware.
Oh, don’t worry I won’t ever give up!
Thank you for your comment.
